TOP PICKS FOR JUNE
Note: Scroll to bottom to see all June Releases
It’s a big month!
There’s a Spielberg film…..about aliens!
There’s a Paul Rudd movie!
Scary Movie is being rebooted by the Wayans brothers and bought back Anna Faris and Regina Hall.
Masters Of The Universe is getting the live action treatment again. I loved the one from the 80’s. How will this one fare?
DCU’s second instalment Supergirl is here to test the waters.
A final Jackass film? One where Johnny Knoxville no longer has to put on makeup to look like and play an old man lol.
My Top Picks:
Disclosure Day
Power Ballad
Scary Movie
Masters Of The Universe
Supergirl
Jackass: Best And Last
My Maybe’s:
The Death Of Robinhood
The Christophers
Disclosure Day
Arguably one of the greatest directors out there is blessing us with an outing into the sci-fi world again. I’m hoping it’s a film with some twists or mind bending moments rather than a straight laced thriller. I heard some comments from Spielberg about the origins of UAP’s years ago and I think I already know what a plot twist will be.
Expectations: High
Released: 11th
Power Ballad
Fairly new to the 2026 lineup is Power Ballad. I love Paul Rudd and the trailers look great. A few reviews describe it as a “feel good” movie, which is just what everybody needs.
Expectations: Med-High
Released: 4th
Scary Movie
Scary Movie 3 is my favourite from the franchise. It bought more “Airplane/Hot Shots” humour into the mix as well as introducing Charlie Sheen, Simon Rex and Leslie Nielsen to the cast. Unfortunately, that one was directed by David Zucker. The first 2 films were produced and written by the Wayan’s Brothers just like this latest one. So despite that, as well as the fact that other spoof movies of late like The Naked Gun and Fackham Hall fell flat for me, I still have high hopes.
Expectations: Med-High
Released: 11th
Masters Of The Universe
The one from the 80’s was amazing, especially from the perspective of a child. Frank Langella as Skeletor was terrifying. This one has Jared Leto (crickets) lol. I am curious to see how it turns out. I played with the toys and saw bits of cartoon TV series but never really followed it or read the comic book stories growing up. This looks a lot more comic accurate.
Expectations: Med
Released: 4th
Supergirl
Superman was Ok. I am not a huge fan of the DCEU or DCU, I am still waiting to be impressed. I am looking forward to this because of Milly Alcock. First saw her in that Game of Thrones knock off then watched another TV series with her in it. I know she will be great, I just hope the story and character do her justice.
Expectations: Med
Released: 25th
Jackass: Best and Last
I rewatched the Jackass films. The first one was meh. 2 was where they found their stride. 3 should have been the last and end on a high note. Forever really should have been the last. This one is supposed to be the last, and the best apparently.
Expectations: Med
Released: 25th
