My Top Picks for March:

  1. Project Hail Mary

  2. Ready Or Not 2: Here I Come

  3. The Bride!

  4. I Swear

  5. Sirat

Project Hail Mary

Phil Lord & Chris Miller directing. Ryan Gosling starring. Adapted from beloved book. Some early reactions are saying it’s a masterpiece.

Not normally making space/drama/sci-fi/thrillers, the directing duo are best known for the Jump Street films & The Lego Movie.

I love the Jump Street films and can’t wait to see how they approach this one.

Ready Or Not 2: Here I Come

I just watched Ready Or Not for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. I still can’t believe I liked it. Samara Weaving is captivating, I need to see more of her films. The premise sounds silly but our second directing duo in this list, Matt Bettinelli-Olpin & Tyler Gillett somehow pulled it off. They have thankfully come back for the sequel and fingers crossed they bring the same magic sauce.

The Bride!

Maggie Gyllenhaal’s sophomore directing effort after The Lost Daughter(On Netflix). I’m not entirely sold on the concept or some of the makeup and costume design but I am prepared to overlook that purely because it is starring Jessie Buckley, Christian Bale and Maggie’s brother Jake Gyllenhaal.  Early reactions say Buckley and Bale are a dream pairing because of their dedication to their roles.

I Swear

This one wasn’t even on my radar until I saw the trailer, then I was sold. And having Robert Aramayo just win the BAFTA for Best Leading Actor, gives me the confidence this is one not to be missed. Director Kirk Jones has an ok history of films but with ratings already in, he has hit it out of the park this time. Average rating so far 9.1/10

Sirat

Last month, I wasn’t that impressed with other foreign films The Secret Agent and It Was Just An Accident. Which is kind of making me hesitant about this one. But at the same time, the trailers, the ratings, the reviews, and Oliver Laxe’s back catalogue,  make this seem like it will be a solidly good film. Average rating so far 7.4/10

Top Movie Marathon Pick for March

Leading up to: Project Hail Mary

Released: 19th March

This is a five movie, nine and a half hour, near epic movie marathon to one of the most anticipated films of 2026.

Lord & Miller are known for their distinct, often self-referential, fast paced and highly comedic style.

Get some laughs up ya!
