FEBUARY SUMMARY 2026
After a mammoth Cinema movie watch of 12 films in January, Febuary took a quieter turn for me.
I only saw 2 new releases and 3 encore screenings at the cinema.
Marty Supreme: First up was an encore screening of Marty Supreme. I wanted to rewatch this, plus I wanted to determine which was my favourite film between this and One Battle After Another which I watched straight afterward. Marty Supreme was just as mesmerising the second time around. The world and characters within it is really something special. I can’t wait to see what Josh Safdie does next.
8/10
One Battle After Another: Another encore screening. My 3rd time watching in a cinema plus I had seen it once at home. I was worried seeing it for a fourth sitting in a matter of months my interest would have waned. It didn’t. It just cemented my love for this film and confirmed that it was my favourite film of 2025.
8.5/10
F1: A third encore screening for the month, why not. F1 blew me away the first watch and I loved every minute of the second watch. It’s big, it’s loud, it’s cool and just a great entertaining film.
8/10
No Other Choice: I want to see this again before doing proper review as there is a lot to unpack plus it’s a great movie. If you don’t like foreign films, try this one, it feels very American and relatable.
7.5/10
Fackham Hall: I wanted to like Fackham Hall. The trailers made me think it would help me like spoof movies again. It didn’t. Seeing the original Naked Gun and Airplane/Flying High movies as a kid, they were absolutely hilarious. But those fond memories can’t seem to be replicated as an adult. Scary Movie 3 was probably the last and only spoof movie I enjoyed in “modern times”. The latest Naked Gun flick was just ok and so was Fackham Hall.
6/10
Of course I wanted to see lots of other films at the cinemas but costs play a big part in not being able to. Plus, as ratings came out it helped my choice not to see them.
Good review and ratings films I’d still like to see:
Is This Thing On?
Crime 101
How To Make A Killing
Movies I wanted to see but was put off:
Wuthering Heights
We Bury The Dead
Scream 7
The other 9 films released in Febuary I was not interested in. I have been told Shelter was a good watch. I am not a big Stathom fan but I might watch it one day.
