THE ODYSSEY

Christopher Nolan is one of my favourite directors. I love how big this movie looks and have high expectations for it. But in saying that, I don’t want those high expectations to let me down. And the trailers haven’t exactly blown me away. In Nolan we trust though. It is fully shot in IMAX so it will be an experience seeing it on an actual IMAX screen.

Expectations: High

Released: 16th

THE INVITE

The Invite premiered in select US theaters on June 26, 2026, so there are early ratings of 8.2/10 coupled with rave reviews. I love this whole cast and thought Olivia Wilde’s last film Don’t Worry Darling was good. I haven’t seen Booksmart but have heard good things.

Expectations: Med-High

Released: 9th

SPIDER MAN: BRAND NEW DAY

Can’t say I am overly excited for this one. I could have not seen another Spider Man film for a while and just have him show up in The Avenger’s films and that would have been fine. But they have moved ahead with a fourth installment of Spidey films, with new director Destin Daniel Crettin at the helm, which will set a wholly different tone to Jon Watts first 3 films. Whether that’s a good thing or not will wait to be seen.

Expectations: Med

Released: 30th

EVIL DEAD BURN

My favourite Evil Dead movie is Fede Alvarez’s 2013 Evil Dead. Nothing else comes close to it in my opinion. The follow up, Evil Dead Rise was good enough but didn’t blow me away. I am not sure if this one will win me over but I am hoping it will.

Expectations: Med

Released: 9th

JACKASS: BEST AND LAST

I rewatched the Jackass films. The first one was meh. 2 was where they found their stride. 3 should have been the last and end on a high note. Forever really should have been the last. This one is supposed to be the last, and the best apparently.

Expectations: Med

Released: 2nd

LOLLIPOP

This film premiered at the Edinburgh International Film Festival on 20 August 2024, and was released in the United Kingdom on 13 June 2025. It has a rating of 8.1/10 which has had a long time to settle on. That’s the main reason this one caught my eye.

Expectations: Med

Released: 2nd

PRIMAVERA

I can’t describe what is drawing me to this film apart from the fact that it looks beautifully shot. I feel like there will be a lot more to it than the trailers show. Already has a great rating of 7.1/10 as was released overseas December 25th 2025. I don’t know much about Vivaldi so it will be good to learn about him in the process of reviewing.

Expectations: Med

Released: 9th
