SCARY MOVIE: SCARY REVIEWS
The new Scary Movie film, aptly named Scary Movie (even though it is the sixth one in the franchise) is finally here.
Early reviews and ratings are in and they are scary. But don’t let that put you off.
Even though they are terrible, this latest outing, is at the moment, the second highest rated in the franchise after the original Scary Movie back in 2000.
That seems to be the trend with the Scary Movie films. Low ratings. High viewership. Everyone knows them. Everyone has a favourite (mine’s the third one). Everyone has one they don’t like (mine’s the fifth). But at the same time, they are collectively held in regard to be a below average movie franchise.
So the reason they kept getting made is:
People still pay to see them, lots of them.
Cheap to make (relatively).
Returns are huge. They are a cash cow.
