TRIPLE MOVIE DAY: WITH REVIEWS

Three movies at the cinema in one day.

I know what you are thinking, it’s a bit mad.

It’s not like I was seeing four movies though, I’m not insane lol.

It was a mixed bag of films.

Primavera was on my Top Pick list, but Colours of Time and I, Object were on my maybe list.

It just so happened that the schedule allowed me to see all three in a timely manner so why not.

They were all at my lovely local Matakana Cinemas.

COLOURS OF TIME

THE GIST

There is a good movie here, it just isn’t for me.

THE EXPERIENCE

It’s hard for me to pay attention at the best of times. But this story jumped around all over the place and also required reading subtitles which made it extra hard.

There was lots of good things about this movie but it ultimately didn’t draw me in.

PRIMAVERA

THE GIST

An intriguing yet tragic tale that’s as beautiful as the music that encompasses it.

THE EXPERIENCE

For some reason I thought I would like this and I was absolutely right.

Compared to Colours of Time, I did not get lost or distracted with the subtitles in this. I can’t remember reading them.

I was immersed by the story, the characters, and the music.

I, OBJECT

THE GIST

It was an enjoyable tale about kids imaginations helping them deal with their problems.

Translation: Kids who were emotionally neglected by their parents have shared hallucinations about inanimate objects coming to life.

THE EXPERIENCE

There was a lot of things I thought were very clever about this film.

It somehow navigated dark themes like loss, neglect and abuse into a light hearted story about overcoming these things.
